My thoughts on Castlevania : Belmont's Curse!
Alright, I have been a bit late at blogging this, but I was glad to hear the news on Valentine's Day that there would be a new official Castlevania game entitled Castlevania : Belmont's Curse. This new official game, after a time of few official Castlevania games from Konami but Castlevania game mods instead, will be a welcome change. While Konami will be the publisher, the game will be outsourced to Evil Empire for development. Evil Empire being the Studio behind Dead Cells and the Castlevania Themed mod for Dead Cells.
Belmont's Curse will be set 20 years after Castlevania III : Dracula's Curse, and will allegedly feature someone named Sonia Belmont as the daughter of Trevor Belmont. Sonia Belmont was a character whom you played as in the game of Castlevania Legends for the Nintendo Gameboy. She was also meant to be included as a playable character along with her distant descendant, Victor Belmont, in Castlevania Resurrection, which was cancelled during development for the Sega Dreamcast. While never released, there is prototype footage available to view.
Getting back to Belmont's Curse, this is a complete reimagining of Sonia, if so. However, with the developers behind Dead Cells working on it, it might be most enjoyable to those who enjoyed playing Dead Cells. The official release date for the game has not yet been confirmed, but it might possibly be released quite soon. Konami has officially announced they will mention more about Belmont's Curse on April 9, 2026 at the Triple-I Showcase!
While there is more to find out in the coming days and weeks about this new sidescrolling Castlevania game, I anticipate writing more on articles related to Horror and other hobbies here at The Alucard Headquarters. As I say, in Conclusion, "Until we meet again, farewell."
